Chilmark Board of Health Minutes

Attendees: Katie Carroll, Michael Renahan, Sylvia Yeomans
Ed Sussman (27.1-205) -- The Board approved this disposal works application to tie in a detached bedroom to the existing six bedroom septic system. The engineer is to inspect the installation while the trench is open.
The following septic installer’s permits were approved:
Clermont Construction, LLC Medeiros Excavation & Landscape, LLC
Home Port, Inc. (27.1-85) – The Board received a food establishment renewal application from the Home Port. There was a discussion regarding an incident with Will Holtham that followed.
When Sylvia called to thank Madeline Holtham for delivering the application, she informed Madeline that she needed to check with the Board to be sure there were no outstanding issues with the septic system. Mr. Holtham got on the phone and began yelling and using profanity. Sylvia asked him to stop, when he didn’t, Sylvia hung up the phone. He then came into the office and proceeded to yell and use profanity, accusing Sylvia of harassing him, cutting off his income, and not doing her job. Sylvia informed him that she would not discuss it until he calmed down.
The Board said to issue the food establishment permit but Mr. Holtham should apologize to Sylvia for his unacceptable behavior. Sylvia agreed that would be acceptable.
